![]() | Men, a brief note to let you all know I made it back safely to what we call the "Big Sand Box"... I want to express how pleased I am on just how well you performed as a team this preseason... You've gone undefeated going into regular season play so now it's time to step-up our game and commit to ownership of our undefeated status and not allow our scheduled opponents to take that record away from us... I also want you to think and apply what you've learned and what you're being taught by your coaching staff - "Character does Count" not only on the gridiron but equally important your conduct in school and with family, friends and loved ones... Listen to your coaches and parents, we all have personal experiences to share with you so you may gain an appreciation and advantage in life not so difficult as some of the hard lessons we had to learn... I want to thank Albert for being the first to post a letter to our valiant warriors (US Forces - "Troops")... For those Soldiers, Airmen, Sailors, Marines and Coast Guardsmen who are here with me thousands of miles away from our family, friends and loved ones and who are making daily sacrifices to keep our United States secured, we're sincerely thankful of your gesture of gratitude... Our American Forces who are on the forward edge of the battle area are the best mother earth has to offer and I'm proud to say that - being a United States Marine... I ask you to continue to support our men and women in uniform and simply thank them each opportunity you get... Albert, I honor you and your family especially in keeping with the memory of your Father... He would be proud of you son...
To my son Christian - you are my hero... I along with your Mother and sister (Kaylee) are so proud of you and what you've become as an athlete and scholar... Remember to keep your head-up, make face-cage to face-cage contact and wrap-up your opponent... Height doesn't matter son but the size of your heart does!!! Daddy loves you...
In closing, I want to share with you all an old saying that I impress upon your fellow teammate - my son Christian (#8), always remember "Nothing in life comes free and nothing earned is nothing gained" - Life is what you make of it gentlemen... Seize the moments!!! You're destined for greatness...
Semper Fidelis,
Coach Casey |

We’ve been having a heat wave here. The temperature has reached 103! I hope you all return home safely. My grandpa is a veteran of the Korean war. Do you have any relatives that have fought in wars? I think the president should just pull all the soldiers out of Iraq before more Americans are wounded.

![]() | Hello Coach Casey and all the Men and Women serving in Iraq, My name is Mark Garcia, I am 12 years old, and I am a Defensive Lineman for the Downey Razorback Pee Wee division. This is my second year playing. I really love the game and I have great Coaches. Coach Casey is missed by all my fellow team mates as well as myself. We are really lucky to have people like all of you who are protecting our freedom and giving me this wonderful opportunity to play football. It must be really hard leaving your families behind when you serve. I want you all to know that I really appreciate you a lot. This year in football hasn't been the best for me. I got hurt during practice in August and had a CAT Scan done. Well my injury was ok but the doctor's found a tumor growing on my Adrenal Gland. After two months of testing they say I need surgery so I can't play football right now until I get better. I feel sad that I only got to play half of the games and I can't finish the season. I think this is how you all feel when you leave your families behind when you are fighting this war. It really SUCKS!!! Do you ever get sad when you really want to do something that you can't do? I know that I will get better and there is always next season. I pray that all of you come home soon, especially you Coach Casey. I know that your family misses you. I hope that who ever reads my letter knows that you are all heroes to me and my family. You all make our country better than any country in the world. I hope that you all stay safe. Coach Casey I hope that you can return for our end of the season PARTY!!!! Sincerely, Mark Anthony Garcia #72 |
